Laboratory
The laboratory is where we house all our testing equipment and we are proud of our wide range of facilities. We are able to provide a speedy service for blood examinations, which could make a crucial difference in the treatment of illness. Blood testing is also a good way of detecting problems in elderly pets early on so that we can try to slow down the effects of kidney or liver disease by feeding prescription diets as well as treatment.
We offer and highly recommend a pre-anaesthetic blood screen to make sure that your pet is a suitable candidate to be anaesthetised. Our testing equipment undergoes external quality control to make sure it's an accurate result.
We are able to test urine, for illnesses such as diabetes, and check for crystals where cystitis is involved. As we are able to screen in-house we can detect problems early on and we can monitor regularly to check that the treatment is improving the condition.
