Postmill Close, Wymondham, Norfolk, NR19 0NL United Kingdom Tel: 01953 602 139 F - Prep Room![]() Preparation Room The preparation room is the working room or workshop of the practice. This is where your animal will be taken after admittance for a day procedure. Your pet will be weighed and it's pulse, heart and temperature taken. This monitoring and recording procedure is continued throughout the day. Your pet will be prepared for it's operation and given a "pre-med" so that it feels relaxed before the main anaesthetic. Preparing for an operation usually involves clipping your pet's coat and scrubbing up, to clean the coat, before being taken to the theatre for the operation. The preparation room has piped oxygen, and anaesthesia is induced here. Work is carried out here on the patient or after suitable preparation the patient is transferred to dental station, op theatre or x-ray suite.
